The Peebles Corp. moves up in ranking (2006-06-05)

The Peebles Corp. moved up eight notches in this year’s Black Enterprise ranking of the country’s largest black-owned firms.

The Coral Gables development firm headed by R. Donahue Peebles finished 10th in the Industrial Service category, an advance from last year’s 18th place finish.

The company — which has three projects underway in the San Francisco area, recently finished Miami Beach’s Bath Club condominium and still owns a stake in South Beach’s Royal Palm hotel — reported sales of $450 million in 2005, according to the magazine.
