Overviews of Fluoride Concerns
is Topic of Webinar Discussion with Dr. Paul Connett

A Free Webinar (a seminar conducted over the Internet) discusses the grave concerns over the fluoridation of our drinking water and why poisoning of the drinking water is absurd.

MIAMI, FL · July 21, 2010    A seminar, presented free-of-charge over the Internet and titled "Overviews of Fluoride Concerns: 10 Facts About Fluoride and the Absurdities of Fluoridation," will be offered on September 1 by Heinz Dinter, PhD, editor and publisher of Grand Lifestyle Publisher. His special guest is Dr. Paul Connett, Executive Director of the Fluoride Action Network.

The webinar focuses on the facts about fluoride. Dr. Connett will discuss the absurdities of fluoridation and the significant health risks the introduction of fluoride into our drinking water presents.

“We will discuss with Dr. Connett the unbelievable paradox of our government having supported the fluoridation of our tap water for many decades and here stand a scientist and thousands of his colleagues who oppose fluoridation and warn of fluoride’s health destroying power and actions,” explains Dr. Dinter.

Dr. Connett declares in a most convincing tone, “But fluoridation, if we have the political will, is as easy to stop tomorrow as is turning off a tap.”

Never, but NEVER, give up, the dedicated scientist turned activist adds.

“There are many arguments against fluoridation,” the world-wide respected fluoride expert explains. “Number one it’s very bad medicine because once you put it in the water, you can’t control the dose. You can’t control who gets it. There is no oversight. You’re allowing a community to do to everyone what a doctor could do to no one and force them to take medication.

Secondly, it’s avoidable. It’s unnecessary because even the promoters of fluoridation concede that the major benefits are topical; it works from the outside of the tooth not from inside of the body. So why swallow it? Why put it in the drinking water when you could brush your teeth with fluoridated toothpaste?

It’s ineffective. There is practically no difference in tooth decay between fluoridated countries which is the majority and non-fluoridated countries. No difference between fluoridated states or states which have a high percentage of fluoridation and those which are low.

The child would probably be sick, vomit long before that child got through a whole tube of toothpaste. But there is no question that fluoride, not an excessive amount, can cause serious harm. There have been examples of children who swallowed the gel that is used for topical treatment and they died as a consequence. So fluoride is extreme.

For about 100 years the phosphate fertilizer industry released two very toxic gases into the environment. These gases, hydrogen fluoride and silicon tetra fluoride, decimated the local area, the vegetation, and crippled cattle. Eventually, the industrialists were required to capture these toxic gases with a spray of water called a wet scrubber. The scrubbing liquor is a solution of hexafluorosilicic acid. It cannot be dumped into the sea by international law. It can’t be dumped locally because it is too darn concentrated. But if someone buys it, it’s no longer a hazardous waste, it’s a product.

Guess who buys it? Answer: the local water utilities who add it to our drinking water. Over 90% of the systems fluoridating their water which is delivered to its customers as “drinking water” use this acid or its sodium salt.

It’s absolutely absurd, Dr. Connett says.

Grand Lifestyle, the Miami-based online publisher serving the general public as “Your How To Source: Issues of Value, Ethics, Human Needs and Deeds” (www.GrandLifestyle.com) is presenting this webinar as part of its One-On-One Webinar series.

The urgent need for such a public forum surfaced when Grand Lifestyle’s publisher learned of the devastating consequences of fluoridated water while researching the Internet for information — the truth.

“My nightmare was compleat,” recalls the computer entrepreneur and publisher whose computer technology experience covers 52 years. “When I attempted to convince local city councilmen to look at the facts, I failed, because they ignored me,” the frustrated computer user and health-conscious citizen says.

“I consider it not only a moral obligation to dig into this problem and seek answers for my fellowmen seeking a healthy lifestyle,” explains Dr. Dinter, “I owe it to the general public to put my 52 years of experience to use in support of ensuring our community leaders deliver competence, integrity, and dedication to service.”

“Letting poison enter your body can maim you if it accomplishes what it is meant to do,” warns Dr. Dinter, "and drinking fluoridated water could result in a catastrophe."

Dr. Connett will answer  questions submitted via email prior to the webinar to webinar@GrandLifestyle.com and those submitted at the live presentation.

Paul Connett, PhDDr. Paul Connett is a graduate of Cambridge University and holds a PhD in chemistry from Dartmouth College. Since 1983 he taught chemistry at St. Lawrence University in Canton, NY where he specialized in Environmental Chemistry and Toxicology. He retired in May 2006. Over the past 25 years his research on waste management has taken him to 49 states in the US, and 52 other countries, where he has given over 2,000 pro bono public presentations. Ralph Nader said of Paul Connett, “He is the only person I know who can make waste interesting.”

Paul Connett has researched the literature on fluoride’s toxicity and the fluoridation debate for 14 years. He helped found the Fluoride Action Network (FAN) — www.fluoridealert.org. Dr. Connett has given invited presentations on the dangers of fluoridation to legislative and research bodies in Australia, Canada, Germany, Ireland, Israel, Japan, New Zealand, the UK and the US. The latter has included presentations to both the US EPA and the National Research Council.

With Professors James Beck and Henry Micklem, Paul Connett has authored a book on fluoridation entitled The Case Against Fluoride: How Hazardous Waste Ended up in Our Drinking Water and the Bad Science and Powerful Politics that Keep it There. The book will be published by Chelsea Green in late September 2010 and can be pre-ordered from www.Amazon.com.
